BASKETBALL
A&M's Maroon Madness to be on ESPN3.com: The Texas A&M men's and women's basketball teams will hold their Maroon Madness on Friday in conjunction with Midnight Yell Practice at Kyle Field.
ESPN3.com will air the event live.
Gates at Kyle Field will open at 10:30 p.m. Immediately following yell practice, the men's and women's teams and coaching staffs will be introduced to the crowd. Other scheduled events include the presentation of the women's national championship trophy, a dunk showcase and shooting and skills competitions divided up by class year.
SOCCER
A&M's Monogue wins second weekly award: Texas A&M freshman Kelley Monogue was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for the second time this season, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Monogue scored both goals in the No. 14 Aggies' 2-0 shutout of Texas Tech in Lubbock on Friday. Monogue now leads the conference in points (28), points per game (1.87), goals (11) and goals per game (0.73).
The freshman forward also took TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week honors Monday.
A&M will host Drake at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Ellis Field.

Aggies to hold youth soccer clinic: The Texas A&M soccer team will host a free youth clinic from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at Ellis Field.
The clinic is for players in the U8 to U10 age brackets. Participants are asked to bring a ball, shin guards and soccer cleats. Water will be provided.
Free parking will be available at Olsen Field lot 100J.
SOFTBALL
Aggies to begin Maroon & White Series today: The Texas A&M softball team will begin the best-of-5 Maroon & White Series at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Aggie Softball Complex.
Game 2 will be at 4:15 p.m. Friday and Game 3 will be at 4 p.m. Monday. Games 4 and 5, if necessary, are set for Oct. 19-20. Admission is free.
