Romney earns PolitiFact?s ?Lie of the Year? for Jeeps made in China

DEAR ABBY: I have been married for 14 years to a man who had two failed marriages. I never felt insecure in my married life until I read his answers to a Yahoo Answers poll that asked, "Do you dream about the one that got away?" and, "Have you found the love of your life?"My husband responded that he thinks about her very often, especially on her birthday and Valentine's Day. To the other question he replied he had found the love of his life, but the relationship had ended in divorce, which he admitted was his fault.I know he was talking about his first wife. I feel so sad and insecure. ...

Earlier Tuesday Facebook rolled out its Gifts service to the entire United States, after it had spent some time in beta.

For those who want to send physical gifts to Facebook friends for birthdays, holidays or other special occasions, it's a very simple process. Facebook has created a large library of presents to choose from, including gourmet food, household items and novelty gifts. It seems perfectly timed with the holiday season, even if your giftee knows what you're buying them before they receive the package.

Twitter profile pages will change Dec. 12

1 hr.

Twitter pages are getting a bit fancier (some might say more Facebook-like) whether you like it or not, starting Wednesday. For years, a user's Twitter page has featured the option of a profile photo and a page?background of your choosing. Now, there's a third element being added to your page's look, a "header" photo that surrounds your profile photo.

The short messaging blog has been doing a soft rollout the past few months of the three-element look, but on Dec. 12, it goes site-wide to all users.?

And if you don't choose your header?"look," Twitter will place a?default gray image for you there?(of course, you can change it).

The aim, writes product manager?Sachin Agarwal, on Twitter's blog, is to "make your profile beautiful and display your style on your profile page." The addition of a header photo "can make your profile more uniquely yours."

Here's a fuller look at NASA's Curiosity rover's page with the new look:

Twitter walks you through how to make the changes in a video (below), and it's fairly simple.

Go to the settings for your account, and click on "edit profile," then click on "change photo."?You can upload a profile?photo or even take a picture (click on "take photo")?using your computer's built-in camera.?

You'll also see the option there for "Change header," which is where you can play with the new element. Twitter will give you the option of choosing from its palette of design elements or you can upload a photo of your own.

So, plan to allot some time to play with the features, and to make?"yur profile a little more 'you,' " and "less generic," says?Agarwal. Although, look: if you want to be generic: Go for it! It's your choice.

Vegetarian Christmas

Whatever is served at a traditional Christmas dinner, meat probably holds pride of place, and what good is that to us veggies? Here are some ideas to mix and match for a vegetarian Christmas menu.
?

Appetizers

Bell Pepper Soup
A delicious, colorful soup made with sweet peppers that can be served hot or cold.

Christmas Salad
This red, white, and green salad will help spread Christmas cheer.

Crudit?s
A platter of crudit?s typically consists one or more types of raw vegetables served with one or more dips. These can be served as an appetizer, at a buffet, in place of a salad ? the sky is the limit. Here are some ideas for interesting crudit? platters.

French Onion Soup
Traditional French onion soup is made with beef broth, but this vegetarian version is so flavorful that meat-eaters will never know the difference!

Garlic Soup
This garlic soup is as good as anything you?ve ever had in a restaurant ? it is wonderfully rich and velvety.

Minestrone Soup
This classic Italian soup is always vegan, as long as you leave off the parmesan cheese.

Roasted Chestnuts
Roasted chestnuts are such a traditional winter treat that there?s a song about them ? sing along as you roast your own chestnuts.
?

Bread

Buttermilk Biscuits
There?s nothing quite like buttermilk biscuits hot out of the oven.

Corn Bread
Hot corn bread is absolutely delicious topped with butter or cream cheese.

Dinner Rolls
I find that the nicest meals are always nicer with some bread in my hand, preferably warm from the oven. We don?t have a nice bakery nearby, so I have to make my own rolls, and this is the simplest recipe I?ve found.

Popovers
Recipe for popovers, perhaps the simplest and quickest way to enjoy fresh bread hot from the oven.
?

Vegetarian main courses

Cabbage Rolls
Normally filled with a mixture of ground beef and rice, cabbage rolls are a staple in Eastern Europe and a favorite in many other countries. Try these vegetarian cabbage rolls stuffed with vegetables for an equally tasty main course.

Eggplant Gratin
Eggplant layered with tomato sauce and topped with saffron custard makes an elegant and delicious main course.

Lasagna
Lasagna is basically a casserole made with layers of flat noodles, vegetables, cheese, and sometimes meat. There are a million variations on lasagna; here are some vegetarian favorites.

Moussaka
Moussaka is a Greek dish traditionally made with lamb or beef. This vegetarian / vegan moussaka recipe uses portobello mushrooms and seitan instead. A rich and delicious main course.

Pot Pie
This pot pie recipe is better than the TV dinner version for two reasons: it?s vegetarian and it?s prepared and baked, rather than frozen and microwaved. It?s also quick and flexible, so give it a try.

Ratatouille
The perfect recipe to enjoy fresh vegetables and herbs; it can be served half a dozen different ways.

Spanakopita
A classic vegetarian recipe from Greece: rich and delicious spinach-cheese pie.

Vegetable Gratin
This hearty dish is made with pasta and grilled vegetables and topped with melted cheese.

Veggie Loaf
This recipe for veggie burgers spread into a loaf pan and baked for 30-40 minutes makes a great vegetarian "meat" loaf.

Winter Squash Risotto
Risotto isn?t difficult to make, but it does require a lot of standing at the stove, stirring away. The end result, however, is delicious and a wonderful comfort food.
?

Side dishes

Gravy
This simple, nut-based gravy recipe will satisfy your cravings at Christmas or any other time of year.

Mashed Potatoes
Mashed potatoes are the ultimate comfort food. They?re quick and easy and the soft texture makes me feel like a kid. They?re also a great base for all kinds of variations like vegan mashed potatoes and garlic mashed potatoes.

Proven?al Tomatoes
These stuffed tomatoes from southern France are delicious served with soup, pasta, or rice dishes.

Stuffed Sweet Potatoes
Make the most of the sweet potatoes available in winter ? these stuffed sweet potatoes are sweet and buttery.

Stuffing
Stuffing doesn?t have to be cooked inside a turkey ? this vegetarian bread stuffing with apples and walnuts is delicious baked as a casserole.
?

Dessert

Apple Pie
For me, autumn and early winter = apples, and I can?t think of a better way to enjoy them than in a homemade apple pie.

Ginger-Brandy Cheesecake
Sweet, rich cheesecake with a ginger snap crust and orange glaze.

Gingerbread
Moist and spicy, gingerbread is a perfect Christmas treat.

Mincemeat
Make a big batch of vegetarian mincemeat so that you can make a few pies and have some left over to serve with ice cream, custard, pudding, or cr?pes. You can also can or freeze it for later.

Plum Pudding
Plum pudding is a traditional Christmas dessert in the UK, and is normally made with suet. Julia Child?s version shows that there?s no reason plum pudding can?t be vegetarian.
?

Drinks

Egg Nog
Egg nog is a traditional winter drink, which I find rather odd since it?s cold and I always want something warm. If you?re worried about salmonella from raw eggs, use pasteurized eggs.

Mulled Wine
Warm, spicy mulled wine is a wonderful winter drink.
?

Tips

Adaptable Recipes
Meals with a mixed group of vegetarians and non-vegetarians can require a lot of extra effort from the cook. However, you can save a lot of work by making similar dishes for both groups ? a vegetarian version and a meat version. Here are some vegetarian recipes that lend themselves easily to meat additions.

Dealing with Vegetarians
If you?re not a vegetarian, the thought of cooking for or eating with someone who is may seem rather daunting. In fact, it?s really not that difficult, if you follow a few simple guidelines and use common sense.

North Korea replacing rocket stage, likely to launch as planned: report

SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea is moving a new rocket component to its missile test site to replace a faulty stage that has delayed its planned launch of a long range rocket and is likely to still go ahead with a launch in December, a South Korean newspaper reported on Monday.

North Korea's state media announced at the weekend that the launch of the rocket carrying what it called a scientific satellite may have to be delayed without disclosing the reasons.

A trailer carrying a new third stage rocket was seen by satellite on Saturday being moved from a missile plant in Pyongyang to the Tongchang-ri missile launch site, South Korea's Chosun Ilbo newspaper quoted a government source as saying.

"From the reading of satellite images, it's definite the North delayed the missile launch because of problems with the third stage rocket," the source was quoted as saying.

"The possibility the North will go ahead with the launch before December 22 as announced is high."

Officials at South Korea's spy agency and military declined to confirm the report, citing their policy of not commenting on intelligence related matters.

It is impossible to verify events inside the secretive North which is one of the world's most closed states that tightly controls news and information about its military and its leadership.

The North is believed to be developing an intercontinental missile with a range of more than 6,700 km which would have the capacity to hit the continental United States, a move that would dramatically increase its diplomatic clout.

North Korea has said it would launch a rocket to put a working satellite into space between December 10 and 22 from its test ground located in the western region near its border with China.

Analysts said the timing was picked to mark the first anniversary of the death of the North's former leader Kim Jong-il, although it also coincides with elections in South Korea and Japan.

The planned launch has been condemned by South Korea, Japan and the United States, all of which call it a disguised test of a long-range missile being developed to carry nuclear arsenal.

An earlier launch in April failed minutes after blast off which the North admitted in a rare admission of a embarrassing failure.

North Korea is banned from carrying out any missile or nuclear related activities by U.N. resolutions imposed in 2006 and 2009 after conducting nuclear and missile tests.

Pyongyang says it has a right to develop a space program.
